We repair washing machines made by Bosch, Neff, and Siemens very regularly, and we’ve come to know a thing or two about how to indentify and fix error codes shown on washing machines by these manufacturers.
Many of our customers get in touch with us asking for advice when they see an error code appear on their washing machine, so we thought we’d put together a list of all the fault codes for Bosch, Neff, and Siemens washing machines with a digital display.
01 or E17 – Water level error
We would suggest you check to see the water supply to your washing machine is turned on. Also, if you can, check to see the hoses at the back of your machine are not blocked or kinked.
02 or F02 – Heater error
There is a fault with the heating element in your washing machine which may be preventing it from heating up.
06 and 07 – NTC sensor error
Check the connections and test the NTC if you know how to. If you don’t, please seek the assistance of a qualified service engineer.
08, 16, 34 – Door lock error
The washing machine has not registered that the door has has closed properly. Check to see if it clicks shut. If not, check if the catch or the latch have been damaged.
F03 and F18 – Drain error
The machine is not able to drain water properly. This could be caused by a blockage or a failure of the pump.
04, 05, 21, 42, 43, 44 – Motor error
This can be caused by a number of different things. Depending on your level of knowledge of washing machines, we would recommend checking the carbon brushes to see if they’ve worn down. Other causes include faulty tacho connections and PCB modules.
09 and F09 – Heating in the machine
This is when the heating element turns on when it should not, for example during the rinse cycle.
10 and F10 – Communication error
If you can, check the connection between the motor and the module. If you’re not sure how to do this, seek the assistance of a qualified washing machine engineer.
How to reset an error code on a washing machine by Bosch, Neff, or Siemens
- Turn the dial to the off or reset position (should be at the 12 o’clock position)
- Turn the dial to the 6 o’clock position
- Press and hold down on the spin button and simultaneously turn the dial to the 7 o’clock position. Hold the spin button for around 5 seconds and then release. Turn the dial to the off position.
When you next turn your Bosch, Neff, or Siemens washing machine on, the errors or faults should have reset.

On the LCD is an error code E35.
What can cos this problem?

Friday, January 11, 2019 at 5:10 pmWe have an Active-outdoor 7kg E10-47 model Siemens clothes-washer. WM10E471EX/10
It has been a dandy of a machine, I have only replaced the pump, lower struts and the control board. The control board ticked me off but all in all it has been a work horse.
Now currently it seems to get lost in the wash process, not all the time and not on all the settings. Also no codes are set, as far as I can see.
The problem is when washing a load, the process is wash (drain) rinse (drain), drain/spin dry. but for some reason it doesn’t drain for the last process.
So the clothes are soaking wet and there is water in the tub. If I switch over to a 19 min option then it works just fine – drains, a rinse and spin dry.
Again no codes and the last drain not happening is only on the longer wash cycles.

Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10:04 amSounds like it might have a draining problem, if the filter or water outflow is restricted the pumping out process will take too long and the product will not go into the final (or other) spin. Usually there is a fault code but on an older machine this might not be the case.

Monday, September 23, 2019 at 12:09 pmE26 usually means there is a problem with the pressure sensor reading. Either it needs a new pressure switch/sensor or the pipe/chamber is blocked with residue. First thing to do is get an engineer to clean out all the hoses and chambers.

Monday, September 23, 2019 at 12:17 pmThat is not the correct model number, you need to give me the number that is labelled E.nr inside the door for me to look up the code properly.
More generally this code means there was some kind of internal communication error so there could be something wrong with the motor PCB or pump. First thing to do is reset the code to see if it comes back.

It has worked well so far but has developed a fault – Error F63. I have looked this up and tried the method Bosch suggests: urn the dial to the off or reset position (should be at the 12 o’clock position)

t has not resolved the problem = I believe a new control board is needed. How much would it cost to supply a new part and repair? – Or would it be better to buy a new machine?

As per the solution to reset E26 error code appear on display,,basic knowledge technician told some of something wrong in pressure switch and he can’t do more.
In Sri Lanka we don’t Siemens rep.center hear.
Kindly advice how to reset this error.
